The Story of Elizabeth| Luke 1

 

Lesson Goal:

To teach children about Elizabeth and her family. In this story, we learn that our God is a God of miracles!

 

Opening Prayer:

Dear God, thank You that with You nothing is impossible. Remind us that You are a God of miracles, and we can trust you to do anything that you promise us. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

  

Bible Memory Verse:

Luke 1:37 (ESV)

37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Verse Memory Tips: (have your preschooler repeat the verse with you using the following hand/body motions:)

● “Nothing” - Hold up your index finger and wag it back and forth.
● “Will be” - Lay your hands palms up in front of you one at a time.
● “Impossible” - Lift your hands and shrug your shoulders as if unsure what to do.
● “With God” - Point to the sky.

Lesson Review:

1. Who was Elizabeth married to? (Zechariah)
2. What did the angel tell Zechariah? (He and Elizabeth would have a baby!)
3. Did Zechariah believe the angel? (No!)
4. What happened? (He couldn’t speak - cover your mouth)
5. Did Elizabeth have a baby? (Yes!)
6. Was her baby a miracle? (Yes!)
7. What did they name their baby? (John)
8. Who did John tell people about when he grew up? (Jesus)

 

Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for being a God of miracles. We praise You for the greatest miracle of all: Your Son Jesus rising from the dead! In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
